So happy you’ve made it here.
I’m Sam, and my path into counselling has been a little different than most. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent years working in rugged, high-pressure environments across mining, forestry, ski patrol, avalanche operations, first aid, and wilderness guiding.
I’ve worked in cultures where people are expected to keep going, stay capable, and push through, even when stress has been building for a long time.
I’ve been there.
My lived experience shapes how I show up in this work. I understand demanding workplace environments, shift and camp life, burnout, critical incidents, toxic dynamics, relationship strain, and what it can feel like when chronic stress starts affecting your body, relationships, and sense of self.
I also know that therapy is not always easy to walk into, especially for people who are used to carrying things on their own.
My practice focuses on supporting adults navigating anxiety, burnout, workplace stress, emotional overwhelm, ADHD-related challenges, life transitions, grief, relationship difficulties, and the lingering impacts of high-pressure environments.
I offer both virtual counselling across BC and walk-and-talk therapy in Fernie, BC. For many people, being outside can make conversation feel more natural, grounded, and less clinical.
Walk-and-talk sessions can offer space to move, breathe, regulate the nervous system, and process things differently than sitting across from someone in an office.
